My Febreeze House Party

I recently was selected to host a Febreeze House party. Talk about fun!! I had invited 8 people but for various reason only 3 were able to come. How cares the others missed out on our fun. Due to the heat of our mobile home the party was outside on the covered patio.

I chose to serve light fresh foods. I made a wonderfully sinful fruit dip, Creamy Cinnamon & Spice dip to serve with the fruit.
2 cups Cool Whip
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
dash of nutmeg
1/8 to 1/4 tsp cinnamon (I used 1/4 tsp)

For the vegetables I made a creamy Dill dip. I also made a Broccoli-Cauliflower salad.

This was a really nice party everything was suppli8ed but the guests and the food. We all received free products showing off the new line of fragrances that about to come out. May I wholeheartedly suggest the Pomegranate Mango fragrance.

July 9th Cow appreciation day

Visit your nearby Chick Fil A dressed as a cow and get a free meal.

Thinking out loud there is a bathroom close by the Chik Fil A in the mall. So I can head over on the bus, change in the bathroom and then get my free sandwich.

Let me introduce Dawn Hall

Dear readers and friends,

Today’s post is about a dear woman that I met last year. Her name is Dawn Hall and she writes cookbooks. I was given 2 of the cookbooks for Christmas and used them the day after for meals. All the recipes are quick, tasty and perfect for busy people. I don't think its a secret that Thursday nights are my lazy cooking nights - her cookbooks are often the first thing I run to for easy meals.

She wrote her first one to help pay for her husbands special cancer treatment. She currently does speaking engagements and has a cooking show on the local Christian TV station. Well she has entered Oprah’s contest for her own cooking show!!! Personally she needs to be Food Network!!!

So I am asking please visit her website, check out her recipes (she even provides a shopping list) and vote as often as you like so she can get her own show.

When you visit you will see the link right at the top to place your vote. No registration needed or asked for and you can vote as often as you like. Let me warn you when you vote back to back the votes do not show up right away but they count.

And if you get the chance to order any of her books I can recommend the Fun, Fast, Festive Christmas cookbook (love it full menus and decorating ideas) and Down-Home Cooking without the Down-home fat.

Blessings and thank you for voting, Laura

Trip to target and man I smell like Old Spice

Baby Kelly Bear took me to Target so I could get some of the awesome deals that I saw posted. Thank you Baby bear its always fun shopping with you.

Transaction #1
Glade Air & Fabric spray Manufacturer and Target coupons = 49 cents
Scrubbing Bubbles Extend Spray times 2 used Manufacturer and Target coupons. This was a funny deal I had a $3 and $5 manufacturer coupon plus the $3 target coupon. The register took off the whole $8 for the one set of coupons - the product was $6.99 each.
2 Tide sample sizes - manufacturer coupon = 62 cents each
3 Sure deorderant - manufacturer coupon $1.50 = 47 cents each AND one of them has the Try me Free sticker (Kelly saw that one and dug it out for me)
2 Ziploc canisters (packs of 4) - manufacturer coupon and Target coupon = 39 cents each. Work great for putting up food in my freezer.
Kleenix hand towels - manufacturer coupon and Target coupon = 99 cents
Sobe waters 10/$10 and when you bought ten you got a $5 gift card. Used several BOGO coupons that I have found on the web in the last week and also spent the past 3 days playing the SOBE instant win game.
I bought 12 using 6 BOGO coupons plus 4 Target 50 off one coupons so total $4 and then I got a $5 gift card

Then the reason I smell like Old Spice. I went cause the deal was buy 3 get $5 gift card or buy 6 and get $10 gift card. So I had enough coupons to buy 6 and get the $10 gift card. so 6 bodywash = $21.24 - 3 BOGO coupons $10.62 = $10.62 - $10 gift card = 6 body wash for 62 cents.

Total before coupons nearly $65 after coupons = $18.56 - minus the $15 in gift cards = $3.56 total. The refund for the Sure is $1.97.

Then so I wouldn't forget them I used $10 in gift cards right then.
Transaction #2
6 pack underwear
Altoids smalls (had to get over $10)
Visine Red eye relief - manufacturer coupon and a refund for purchase price
Total for all 3 = $10.86 used a $10 gift card and $1 cash
The refund price for the Visine is $3.64

Thank you for reading and blessings to you, Laura

Shopping plans for week of June 21st.

Sorry folks I haven't had much to post about between being sick and to hot in this room I've just been speachless.

This week is a cheap spending week so here is what I have planned so far.

Rite Aid
Motrin PM $3 with $3 upreward = FREE (one of my favorite words) plus I had $3 manufacturer coupons so I made a profit on each one. I did the deal 3 times.

Simplify toilet paper 4 packs for 99 cents
1 Big pack Tic Tacs (had to get over the $4 for the upreward and they were right by the register)
minus $4 upreward from 2 weeks ago = $1.26

Total for all this around $2 thanks to tax. And I have $9 in uprewards and 2 - $2 rebate checks to use next week.

Walgreen's I have 2 - $2 register rewards to use this week.
Plan is to buy a pack of toilet paper that is one sale for $4.79 plus a small cheap filler (to equal out the reward/product ratio). Should be right around $1 total.

The reason I buy Dawn

I am a big fan of Dawn dish soap. Not only does it clean my greasy dirty dishes but it helps wildlife. I'm not sure if all Dawn bottles will help with donations so I make sure I buy the ones that say 1 bottle = $1 to save wildlife.

2 more bottles came home with me today from Rite Aid and trust me I messed up the shelves looking for these bottles. yes I fixed them when I was done,I'm frugal not rude. But then I got to thinking P&G is losing money on me. Rite Aid sale price 99 cents - 25 cent coupon plus the 8 cents handling fee AND they donate $1 to help the animals????

Worth every penny to me and they have a loyal consumer.

Laura the animal lover

nature watch

Its always fun to sit nice and quiet and see who shows up for fun and games. First 2 male cardinals came for some "words".

Then the Groundhog showed up farther in the field.

What I missed was one of our squirrels who came to check us out. He ran across the lawn in front of the patio, up the apple tree and then came back down to check out the garden. That's when Big Laura scared him off. Back up the tree, to the end of the branches and onto the Electric line. He was walking like a tight rope walker carefully all the way to the Maple tree.
