Freebies from the grocery store

After couponing for 11 years I have seen many things. Like the years of reading ads asking for free coupons so someone could have a free shopping trip. I personally have never done that but it did sound curious. Well yesterday I gathered all my free item coupons - just to get them out of my hair before I lost them. Should have seen me walking around Kroger binder on the cart, pink glasses perched on my nose, holding coupons in one hand and my shopping list in the other. Not to mention that I was damp and severely windblown.

I got with my free coupons:
Oscar Meyer select hot dogs - holy smokes these cost $4.49 for 10!!! They were on sale at 2 for $5.
Bulls eye BBQ sauce
Doz large eggs (Kroger coupon from last mailing)
Yo-crunch yogurt (catalina coupon)
Kraft cheese explosion mac & cheese

then I also got free a 1 pad of U by Kotex in a metal holder. I think this holder will be a nice addition to my purse (know what I mean?) Get this last week they sold at Giant Eagle for $1.99. Free after coupon but I'm still kicking myself for paying that original price!!!!

I still have 1 catalina for a free can of cat food. I held off since his royal highness is not eating his canned food.

it was fun watching the coupons all come off the total and seeing free coupon ont he tape.

Fantasic shopping trip

Ah the sweet smell of success. I went across town to Giant Eagle today. They had a wonderful sale and I had wonderful coupons. Some of my freebies or very cheapies were:

Dannon Activia yogurt $2.00 – doubled $1 coupon = free
Friskees Natural Temptations = free
2 Rubbermaid storage containers $2.61 (on sale like 25% off) - $1 coupon doubled = 61 cents
2 Ziploc containers (pack of 4) $2.79 - $1 double coupon = 79 cents
4 Durkee gravy mixes 10/$10 – 50 cents off 2 coupon that doubled = 50 cents each
Daisy Sour Cream $1.50 – 50 cent doubled coupon = 50 cents (perfect for Mexican night tomorrow)
Hormel Completes $2.50 - $1 double coupon = 50 cents
Oven cooking bag $2.79 - $1 doubled coupon = 79 cents
Then my favorite deal (a double deal) 1 box of Fry Magic on sale for $1.99 - $1 doubled coupon = free
THEN on the front of the box $1 coupon on the purchase of chicken with that box and it doubled.
The pack of chicken I picked up was $5.91 – with a $2 store coupon on it and the register took both coupons!!! My chicken was $1.92!!!

Fun shopping at the mall

Believe it or not but I went to the mall again today. Greg gave me $60 that he earned the other day and told me to buy some jeans with it. For paybacks I made him go with me (LOL).

We started by eating our nearly free lunch courtesy of Chik-Fil-A. Last week I had received a coupon for a free chicken sandwich. Then Chik-Fil-A is offering a free sandwich (Monday evenings only) for bringing in your Sunday church bulletin. We added 2 small drinks and an order of fries to complete the meal. If I remember right the free sandwich offer is good for the month of October.

Then with our tummy's satisfied we tackled the Mall. We passed Bath & Body works and I remembered the coupon tht I DIDN"T print off, walked past Build A Bear and remembered the coupon that I hadn't printed. We went to Lane Byrant (the big girls store) hey great day they had a sale on pants and jeans!!! $20 each pair!! good thing they cost $49.50 a pair!!
The salesgirl helped me figure out their sizing system - hey ladies I wear a size 4!!!! Well not for real but in Lane Byrant sizing I am a size blue 4. I got 2 pairs for $62.35. I know that sounds expensive but the jeans will last me a year hopefully 2 and I don't usually find nice looking jeans that fit me at Goodwill.
